Dental Floss Verses Mouth Wash

Posted on 7/18/2022 by Classic Smiles
Dental Floss Verses Mouth WashThere has been a long-standing debate on the best way to protect your teeth from tooth decay and diseases. There are those who swear by dental floss and regular brushing while on the other hand, there are those who only trust liquid mouth wash solutions. These products are among the available options for dental care. Each of these options has its pros and cons and users must not lose focus when choosing dental care products. At the end of the day, the aim is to keep your teeth and mouth healthy.

Benefits of Dental Floss

There are many benefits of dental floss that all people should try to have in their lives. Among these benefits is the fact that flossing removes dirt that regular brushing won't. With flossing, you reach in between teeth to pull out dirt, preventing the growth of tartar and plaque. This is one sure way of preventing tooth decay and gum disease.

Benefits of Mouthwash

Mouthwash also has its benefits and those who swear by it have reasons to. The beauty of mouthwash products lies in their ability to kill germs. Unlike dental floss which only removes the dirt, mouthwash goes an extra mile of killing germs that could be hiding beneath your teeth and gums. The advantage of mouth wash is that it reaches areas where flossing may not access. However, mouthwash products do not necessarily have the ability to remove plaque and tartar from your teeth. They just disinfect your mouth the protect it from infection.

Whic Way to Go

Ideally, you should use as many approaches as possible to protect your teeth from infections. While teeth brushing is the most trustworthy solution, flossing and mouthwash can be used as additional ways to improve dental health. Even so, make sure you get time to see a dentist for deep cleaning at least twice per year.
