Can I keep my wisdom tooth? There is no problem with keeping the wisdom tooth as long as you are brushing and flossing the teeth. If you have enough space, and if the teeth are aligned well and there is access to cleaning. for the teeth then there is no harm in keeping the wisdom teeth. If the wisdom tooth is not affecting or impacting other teeth, then you can keep it. If you keep the wisdom teeth, ensure that the above is observed. The dentist will examine you and tell you how the wisdom teeth are coming along in your mouth.

Uses of wisdom teeth

Wisdom teeth are important for chewing since they are at the back of the teeth. The wisdom teeth need enough room and they also need to be well aligned so that you can easily clean them and in between them to prevent the formation of plaque. Plaque can cause tooth decay if it accumulates and this can lead to gum disease and tooth loss. The wisdom teeth might have limited space but be well aligned the teeth, the teeth need to be well cleaned if they are to remain in the mouth. If the wisdom tooth is left exposed it might leave no space for cleaning. This requires that the tooth be extracted, If not clean the teeth will hide food in between and will form plaque which will cause tooth decay and finally tooth loss.

Is it wrong to have wisdom tooth

The wisdom tooth is not harmful as long as it will be cleaned, have enough room, and is in good alignment to prevent shifting of teeth. The shifting of teeth can cause discomfort and will make your dental formula appear misaligned. Regular dental visits will help the dentist in examining your teeth and see how the wisdom teeth are growing and if it will impact other teeth in the mouth. Visit us to have a checkup and know how your wisdom tooth is coming along
